Unity Trust Bank’s 30th birthday good for business

Ethical business bank Unity Trust Bank has today released a report on its 30th birthday revealing that it has more than doubled its lending to social economy organisations.

Last year saw Unity invest in projects as diverse as financing in existing and new care homes and purchasing a hostel for the homeless.

One customer to benefit is Sandwell Community Caring Trust (SCCT), which was provided with a £3.5million loan alongside a £375,000 investment from Big Issue Invest.

The money will be used to buy a 62-bed specialist dementia care home in West Bromwich.
