Russell-Cotes Gallery and Museum opened its doors to a retrospective of Mucha’s iconic, opulent Art Nouveau work on 1 April. This fascinating exhibition of the Czech artists’ work was attended by Mucha’s grandson John and the directors of The Mucha Foundation. Mucha’s idiosyncratic paintings depicting erotic feminine beauty were used on posters, advertising and packaging in the 1930’s. The exhibition which has returned to Britain for the first time in 15 years runs until 27 September. Entrance £6. To find out more visit the Russell-Cotes website.
