We Are What We Do is a not for profit company that makes positive changes in people’s behaviour; by creating products and services that combat specific social problems, like mental health, global warming and obesity.
Based in London and San Francisco the charitable foundation believe that giving people information is not enough to make them act on it. Instead they try to facilitate sustainable behavioural change, rather than create a short term reaction because something is the ‘right thing to do’.
This is achieved by running projects that become social enterprises in their own right and we were lucky to meet We Are What We Do’s creative director Tori Flower to find out about one of their recent award winning projects Box Chicken. Continue reading
Government plans to force landlords to check the immigration status of tenants have been criticised by homeless charity Crisis over concerns it could prevent the vulnerably housed from finding a home.
A pilot scheme, due to start in the West Midlands from December 1, will require landlords to check renters’ documents to prove their immigration status as part of the new Immigration Act. Continue reading
On the 9th July MP’s from across the country will be invited to sign up to the National Youth Friendly badge at a parliamentary event.
The badge is a free award that is given to organisations who commit to supporting youth friendly activities. It is hoped that in doing so youth unemployment will be significantly reduced.
Laura -Jane Rawlings, Chief Exec of Youth Employment says “Employers of all sizes should be supporting young people in some way”. She will be there on the 9th to support the politicians.
